The AUTM Foundation is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization formed in 2007 by the AUTM Board of Trustees. The Foundation was formed to establish, manage and grow an endowment to support program activities which benefit AUTM members; to facilitate certain activities felt better situated within an affiliated 501(c)(3) organization (activities such as the management of AUTM's annual scholarship programs, awards programs, and others); to enable AUTM to take advantage of certain revenue enhancement opportunities best situated within a 501(c)(3) organization and to provide a framework and mechanism for receiving, managing and reporting on grants awarded to AUTM.
The Foundation provides an opportunity for sharing in appropriate ways, any increased wealth created by the growth of AUTM, by the enhanced value of the AUTM brand, and by the phenomenal growth in size, impact, and stature of the academic technology transfer profession.
